Here’s the truth: you already have the answers within you.

However, you might need the help of a life coach to assist you in arriving at those answers and taking the right actions for you. Here’s the International Coaching Federation’s (ICF) definition of life coaching:

“Partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

What life coaching with Breathing Room WILL NOT be:

  • Me knowing everything it takes to have a fulfilling, successful, and content life for you. A “what I say, goes” mentality

  • Me giving you a ton of advice and coaching you with the assumption that what has helped me will definitely work for you

  • A therapist who is qualified and trained to diagnose, address, and treat mental health conditions. Someone who will aid you in your mental journey to returning to a normal functioning human

  • What you may envision to be a sports coach or teacher who tells you exactly what to do. Someone grades you/reprimands you for your performance or execution on actions

What life coaching with Breathing Room WILL be:

  • My strong belief that you have what it takes mentally and physically to figure out and do what’s best for you. My job is to listen carefully to what you have to say, ask questions, point out observations I’m making and present them to you to get your opinions on them

  • A challenge to open up and consider different ways of thinking and courses of action for your life. You get to ultimately trust that what’s important and valuable to you is valid and makes you unique

  • Working with a professional at listening and connecting the dots of what he’s hearing. A coach who will ask how you got here and what you’re currently doing, but then steers the conversation to help you figure out how you want to move forward mentally and start taking actions so that you can thrive

  • Having an accountability partner who follows up on the things you said you were going to do. If you don’t follow through on things, we’ll working to figure out why and figure out a path forward from there. When you do follow through, we will celebrate the progress you’ve made together, because little wins matter.
